update

Hi. I am alive. A breakup sparked something of a domino effect of freaking out/reassessing a lot of things in my life. Which actually turned out to be a very good thing, but it took a lot of adjusting for me to see that. It's kind of like when you get underwear for Christmas. It's a bummer, but then you realize you needed them and they're actually really comfortable and wonder why you didn't just buy them for yourself a while ago and you're almost embarrassed that you'd put up with those holey ones for that long. So yeah, rocking the new undies of life. Lots of changes, which I'm not the best with, but I'm working on it and learning a lot in the process, so it's going to be ok.

If you read this blog a lot (which you probably do, since you're most likely related to me), you know that my appetite is the first thing to go in times of change. Not much cooking going on lately. If anything it's cereal or avocado toast, which I think I've covered enough. But I wanted to check in and tell you thanks for being awesome.

cereality

Not much to post for a while. Winter is gone and she seems to have taken my appetite with her.

For a couple of weeks the only thing that sounded good (or rather, that didn't sound disgusting) was toast. Luckily this week I've found something to spice things up- cereal. In the past two days, five of my meals have been this. I'm sure it'll get better once I get used to things again, not to mention when I've finally moved and can settle down. For now I've just had to make a few small adjustments- replace caffeine with ice water, and wash my bowls more frequently.

desert island survival picks

If I were going to be trapped on a desert island here are a couple of supplies I'd like to bring to make my tropical mornings more enjoyable: french press, toast, coffee grounds, almond butter, and a water jar. I figure they'll probably already have bananas.

alarm clock

Sometimes I wake up, lay there, and think, 'Man I want to go back to sleep. Work is for suckers.' Then I think of breakfast and what I'll eat and it gets me up. This may just look like some peanut butter and jam on toast, but oh no! It's natural almond butter with blackberry preserves on organic whole grain bread. That, paired with Regis' shiny face shoving money at me, is what gets me out of bed in the morning.
